Hi, I’m Sam.

I’m a CPA, licensed in Ohio. I started my career at PwC, auditing Fortune 500 companies, and I’ve since worked with more than 100 small businesses on their books, their close, and their numbers.

Along the way I’ve seen the same thing again and again: unclear numbers lead to mispriced projects, thinner margins, and a lot of wasted time. The right numbers, explained plainly, fix it.

I’m an expert in QuickBooks Online and Xero, but I’m not a traditional bookkeeper. My job is to tell you what’s happening in your business, why it matters, and what to do next.

Today I run a small team. We prepare your books together, and I review every close before it reaches you. You get the same people every month, and me on every account.

Our culture

Communication.

You always know where things stand. Clear, fast, and honest, even when the news isn’t good.

Caring.

Your business isn’t just another file to us. We care about getting it right, not just getting it done.

Continuous learning.

We keep learning your business and your industry, so our answers get better every month.

Commitment.

We do what we say we’ll do, and we stay with you as you grow.

Why focus on modular construction?

Because a modular company is two hard businesses in one, and most accountants only know how to account for one of them.

One half is construction. Projects run six to eight months, revenue is earned as the build progresses, customer deposits aren’t income yet, and every labor hour has to land on the right job.

The other half is manufacturing. Materials come in, inventory moves across a factory floor, and overhead has to be spread across every unit that rolls out the door.

A construction accountant usually doesn’t know the factory. A manufacturing accountant usually doesn’t know the job site. Get either half wrong and the numbers look healthier than the business is, right up until they don’t.

That combination is what makes modular the most interesting problem in accounting, and it’s the one we’re best at. Because it’s our focus, you don’t pay us to learn your business. And because the work is done remotely, you get that expertise without paying for a full-time, in-person controller.
